*Job Summary*
The Automotive Service Advisor acts as the primary liaison between customers and the service department. This role is responsible for greeting customers, understanding their vehicle concerns, recommending maintenance and repair services, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
*Key Responsibilities*
Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival
Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
Advise customers on required repairs, maintenance schedules, and service options
Prepare and explain service estimates, timelines, and costs
Obtain customer authorization for recommended work
Coordinate with technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and timely repairs
Communicate service progress and updates to customers
Review completed work with customers and explain invoices
Handle customer questions, complaints, and follow-ups professionally
Maintain accurate service records and customer information
Promote additional services and products when appropriate
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines
*Qualifications & Requirements*
High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred)
Previous experience as a service advisor or in automotive service/customer service preferred
Basic knowledge of automotive systems and repair processes
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to explain technical information in a clear, customer-friendly manner
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Proficiency with service management software and computer system
