Job Details

Skills Required:
1. To present and sell Company services to current and potential new business clients for air, sea and land freight and proactively generate sales to meet assigned target.
2. Understand customers business needs, their shipment pattern, cargo particulars, frequency of shipments, volumes, trade lanes, etc.
3. Regular follow up with customers for more business as per customer potential and explore leads from other divisions. This will include cross selling i.e. promote logistics/warehousing; value added services, insurance, etc.
4. Respond to incoming queries and ensure the resolution of service with time
5. Calculate and submit freight quotations/proposals by involving the Sales team/agents, follow up on quotes, re-quote where necessary and secure booking. If business is lost revert with reasons.
6. Coordinate with client during the bridging period before signing of the contract to initiate the relationship. Brief the internal team before the process of operationalization begins
clients as per agreed credit terms. If issues arise, escalate to General Manager and Finance to resolve these.
6. Work closely with Customer Service and Operation team to ensure smooth and complete execution and overall contribute in quality improvement for all assigned accounts
7. Maintain database to ascertain progress on business, customers secured, customers under review, those moving competition and customers who could be roped in
8. Monitor and report on market and competitors’ activities and provide relevant reports.
9. Keep customer abreast of market trend, updates on services, etc.

Shortlisting Benchmark
1. Minimum 5 years + experience in B2B and B2C business development in the shipping and logistics Export /Import industry with in-depth knowledge of export procedures, customs regulations, and documentation requirements.
2. Should have a relevant market base to promote the company.
3. Bachelors’ business or Logistics/Cargo management preferred
4. Excellent Knowledge in
• Ocean Freighting – Export, Import and X-Trade Sales (both FCL & LCL)
• Air Freighting – Export, Import and X-Trade Sales
• Warehousing & Distribution & 3PL (Crating/Lashing, Exhibition, Last Mile Delivery)
• Customs Clearance & Transportation – Both Export and Import for Ocean and Air shipments.
• Break Bulk / ODC shipments
