Role summary
We are hiring a Showroom Sales Consultant to welcome customers to our Al Quoz showroom, understand what they want to make, explain our timbers, finishes, fabrics and construction with confidence, and close the sale. You are the face of a workshop that makes everything it sells.
Title
Showroom Sales Consultant
Reports to
Owner
Works with
Design and technical team, workshop foreman, delivery and installation team
What you will sell
Everything in the showroom is made in the workshop behind it, so you sell the piece on display and every version of it the customer can imagine: a different size, timber, finish, fabric or stone.
• Solid wood dining tables, chairs, beds, sideboards and cabinets in oak, walnut, ash and teak
• Sofas, armchairs, banquettes and headboards upholstered to order
• Outdoor teak collections: dining sets, sofas, sun loungers, daybeds and umbrellas
• Bespoke fitted joinery: wardrobes, kitchens, media walls, home offices and libraries
• Sofa reupholstery, loose covers and teak restoration
The difference from a retail furniture store: there is no "out of stock" and no "only in this colour". Your job is to turn "I like this but…" into a confirmed order.
Key responsibilities
Showroom and customer experience
• Greet every visitor, understand their room, lifestyle and budget, and guide them through the showroom with purpose rather than a tour.
• Keep the showroom, sample library and finish boards presentable every day; rotate displays with the owner.
• Host designers, contractors and villa owners for showroom appointments.
Consultative selling
• Explain timbers, finishes, fabrics, stone and construction in plain language, and recommend the right combination for the customer's home and use.
• Present custom options confidently: size changes, timber and finish swaps, fabric selections, matching pieces.
• Qualify the lead, propose a solution, and ask for the order.
Quotations and follow-up
• Prepare quotations from the price list and the technical team's costings, with clear specifications, lead times and payment terms.
• Follow up every enquiry within 24 hours and keep a live pipeline of open quotes; chase to a decision.
• Collect deposits, issue order confirmations and book site measures.
WhatsApp, web and Instagram leads
• Answer the business WhatsApp line and website enquiries during showroom hours; convert them into showroom visits or video consultations.
• Send photos, finish samples and product links from the website to move remote customers to a decision.
Handover to production
• Hand each confirmed order to the technical coordinator with a complete spec: dimensions, timber, finish code, fabric reference, hardware, delivery address and date.
• Stay the customer's point of contact through production and delivery; update them at each milestone.
• Ask for a Google review and photos after installation.
Product and material knowledge
You will be trained on our range, but you should already be comfortable talking about these with a customer.
Area
What you need to explain and recommend
Timbers
Oak, walnut, ash and teak: grain, colour, hardness, how each ages in an air-conditioned Dubai home; solid wood vs veneer
Finishes
Hardwax oil vs lacquer, matte vs satin, whitewashed, smoked and natural tones; care and repair
Fabrics
Linen, velvet, chenille, bouclé, leather and performance fabrics; Martindale rub counts; what suits children and pets
Stone
Marble, travertine, quartz and sintered tops: look, porosity, staining, care
Hardware
Soft-close hinges and runners, lift systems, push-to-open; what the premium brands add
Outdoor
Why Grade A teak outlasts everything else in the Gulf, Sunbrella and marine-grade cushions, how teak silvers
Lead times
Made to order in 6 to 8 weeks for most pieces; what shortens or lengthens that
Requirements
• 3 or more years selling furniture, interiors, kitchens or high-value home products in the UAE, ideally custom or made-to-order.
• Can hold a confident conversation about timber, finishes and fabrics, and learns new materials quickly.
• Proven record of closing sales and hitting monthly targets; comfortable asking for a deposit.
• Fluent, polished English; Arabic is a strong advantage for Emirati and GCC customers, as are Russian or European languages for Dubai's expatriate villa owners.
• Well presented, warm and patient; at ease with designers, villa owners and hotel procurement teams alike.
• Confident with WhatsApp Business, email, Google Sheets or a simple CRM; can take a clean brief and write a tidy quotation.
• Available to work Saturdays and to attend the occasional evening client appointment or exhibition.
• Female candidates only, for this showroom position.
Nice to have
• Interior design or architecture background, or experience in a design studio.
• Experience selling to hotels, restaurants or fit-out contractors as well as private clients.
• Comfortable on camera for short Instagram reels and product walk-throughs.
• UAE driving licence for client home visits.
What success looks like in the first 90 days
• You can walk any customer through the showroom and explain every timber, finish and fabric on display without help.
• Every enquiry from the showroom, WhatsApp and the website is answered the same day and logged in the pipeline.
• Quotation-to-order conversion is tracked and improving month on month.
• Every confirmed order reaches production with a complete, unambiguous spec.
• Customers mention you by name in Google reviews.
