Job Title: Crane Service Technician
Company Overview HOG CRANES is a leading provider of industrial equipment and crane services. We are dedicated to providing top-tier maintenance, inspection, and repair solutions to keep our clients' operations running safely and efficiently. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Crane Service Technician to join our growing team.
Position Summary: As a Crane Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing field inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various types of cranes (overhead cranes, hoist systems, and gantry cranes). The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, electrical troubleshooting skills, and a steadfast commitment to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Testing: Conduct routine preventative maintenance, daily checks, load tests of overhead cranes.
Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose mechanical, and electrical malfunctions, replacing defective parts or wiring using precision hand and power tools.
Documentation: Record service histories, complete work orders, and document parts needed for repairs. Safety Compliance: Follow strict worksite safety regulations (such as OSHA or local standards) and participate in safety meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or vocational degree in electrical/mechanical fields is highly preferred.
Experience: 2–5 years of experience in crane service, industrial maintenance, or heavy equipment repair.
Electrical Skills: Strong ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot 480V 3-phase control circuits.
Mechanical Skills: Proficient with gearboxes, and welding/torch cutting.
Physical Demands: Ability to work at heights (elevated runways and scaffolding), lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varied weather conditions.
Travel: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for field service travel.
