We are seeking a vigilant and credible Safety Officer to protect the health and safety of our people, contractors, and visitors, and to keep the organisation compliant with applicable HSE legislation. Reporting to the HSE Manager or Operations Manager, the successful candidate will monitor conditions on the ground, enforce standards without exception, and work with line management to eliminate hazards before they cause harm.
The core of the role is inspection and monitoring. The Safety Officer conducts routine and unannounced inspections of the site, workshop, warehouse, or plant, identifying unsafe conditions and unsafe acts and ensuring they are corrected. Areas of particular focus include working at height, confined space entry, hot work, lifting operations, electrical isolation, machine guarding, chemical handling, and vehicle and pedestrian segregation. Findings are documented with clear corrective actions, responsible owners, and deadlines, and closed out through follow-up rather than left open on a report.
