Junior Web Scraping & Anti-Bot Engineer
Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated Junior Web Scraping & Anti-Bot Engineer with a strong foundation in Python, JavaScript, full-stack web development, web scraping, and browser automation.
The ideal candidate should have practical experience building web applications and working with APIs, databases, dynamic websites, and automation tools. You will work closely with senior engineers to develop reliable scraping and automation systems, internal tools, and full-stack applications for complex and high-traffic platforms.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys understanding how websites work, analyzing technical problems, and learning new technologies. Previous experience with anti-bot technologies is highly desirable, but expert-level experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain web scraping and browser automation systems.
Build and maintain full-stack web applications and internal tools.
Develop backend services and REST APIs using Python and/or JavaScript.
Build frontend interfaces, dashboards, and administrative tools.
Work with databases to store, process, and manage application and scraped data.
Use Playwright, Puppeteer, Selenium, or similar browser automation frameworks.
Analyze websites, APIs, JavaScript, network requests, and authentication workflows.
Reverse engineer web application workflows to understand how websites and APIs operate.
Handle authentication, sessions, cookies, headers, and request workflows.
Debug and troubleshoot scraping, automation, and web application issues.
Research anti-bot technologies such as DataDome, Queue-it, CAPTCHA, CDN/WAF systems, and browser fingerprinting.
Work with proxy and IP management systems.
Adapt automation systems when website structures, APIs, or workflows change.
Optimize systems for performance, reliability, and efficient resource usage.
Build monitoring, logging, and debugging tools.
Collaborate with senior engineers on complex technical challenges.
Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Required Skills
Programming
Good knowledge of Python.
Good knowledge of JavaScript.
Understanding of asynchronous programming.
Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, OOP, debugging, and error handling.
Full-Stack Development
Practical experience building full-stack web applications.
Experience with backend frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, Express.js, or similar.
Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with React, Next.JS, or another modern frontend framework is preferred.
Experience creating and consuming REST APIs.
Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
Web Scraping & Automation
Practical experience with web scraping.
Experience with tools such as Requests, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, or similar.
Experience with Playwright, Puppeteer, Selenium, or similar browser automation tools.
Good understanding of HTML, DOM, CSS, and JavaScript.
Ability to use browser Developer Tools to inspect network requests and troubleshoot web applications.
Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, headers, JSON, REST APIs, and browser sessions.
Basic knowledge of WebSockets or GraphQL is a plus.
Anti-Bot Technologies
Basic understanding of modern anti-bot and anti-automation technologies.
Familiarity with DataDome, Queue-it, CAPTCHA systems, CDN/WAF protections, and browser fingerprinting is highly desirable.
Understanding of proxies and IP management.
Understanding of cookies, sessions, headers, and browser behavior.
Strong interest in researching how modern websites detect and manage automated traffic.
Expert-level anti-bot experience is not required for this position. A strong willingness to learn, investigate, and adapt is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Git and GitHub/GitLab.
Experience deploying applications to AWS or other cloud platforms.
Familiarity with Nginx and Gunicorn.
Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis.
