Bayora is a Dubai-based smart home automation company that designs, installs, and supports intelligent home systems for apartments and villas across the UAE. We work with open platforms, primarily Home Assistant, and integrate technologies including KNX, Zigbee, WiFi, and IR-based control systems. Our projects range from single-system installations to full whole-home automation.

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced, reliable technician to support us on smart home installation projects across Dubai. This is a freelance, project-based engagement with the potential for regular work as our project pipeline grows. You will be responsible for the hands-on installation, wiring, and commissioning of smart home systems in residential properties.

Install and wire KNX bus systems, including actuators, sensors, and push-button interfaces
Mount and connect smart switches, dimmers, and keypads (KNX, Zigbee, WiFi)
Install and wire motorized blind and curtain motors
Set up and terminate structured cabling and low-voltage wiring
Install smart thermostats, IR blasters, and climate control devices
Mount and configure security cameras, smart doorbells, and access control hardware
Install and test WiFi access points and networking equipment
Pull cables through existing conduit in finished properties without damaging surfaces
Perform testing and commissioning of all installed systems
Work carefully in finished, furnished, and occupied luxury properties

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation or smart home / building automation systems
Working knowledge of KNX systems (bus wiring, device mounting, basic commissioning). ETS programming experience is a strong advantage
Comfortable with both low-voltage (24V, bus cables, data cabling) and mains-voltage electrical work
Experience installing smart switches, sensors, actuators, and control panels
Familiarity with structured cabling, Ethernet termination, and WiFi access point installation
Ability to work cleanly and carefully in completed, high-end residential properties
Own set of professional tools (crimping tools, multimeter, cable tester, hand tools)
Based in Dubai with own transportation
Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)
Valid UAE residency and ability to work as a freelance subcontractor

Preferred Qualifications

KNX Partner or KNX Advanced certification
Experience with Home Assistant, Zigbee2MQTT, or open smart home platforms
Familiarity with Aqara, Shelly, or similar smart home product ecosystems
Experience with DALI lighting systems or DMX control
Previous work in hospitality, holiday rental, or luxury residential environments
HVAC or air conditioning system knowledge

Engagement Details

Type: Freelance / Subcontractor (project-based)
Location: On-site across Dubai (primarily Downtown, Marina, Business Bay, Dubai Hills, Arabian Ranches)
Compensation: Per-project rate, negotiable based on scope and experience
Schedule: Flexible, based on project timelines. Some projects may require evening or weekend availability
Equipment: Candidate must provide own hand tools. Specialty equipment and all project materials provided by Bayora
