Job Description – Interior Fit-Out Site Supervisor
Position: Site Supervisor
Department: Projects / Site Operations
Industry: Interior Fit-Out / Interior Contracting
Location: Dubai, UAE
Reporting To: Project Manager / Project Engineer
Job Purpose
The Site Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination and quality control of interior fit-out works on site, ensuring that works are executed safely, correctly, on schedule and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
The Site Supervisor will coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, site workers and the project team and ensure that site activities are properly planned and executed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision
Supervise daily interior fit-out activities and ensure works are carried out as per approved drawings and specifications.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, technicians and labour teams.
Allocate daily work activities and monitor progress.
Ensure the correct materials, manpower and tools are available for scheduled activities.
Monitor workmanship and ensure work is completed to the required quality standards.
Identify site issues and coordinate with the Project Manager for timely resolution.
Ensure completed works are protected from damage by subsequent activities.
2. Fit-Out Works Coordination
Supervise and coordinate various interior fit-out activities including:
Civil and blockwork
Gypsum partitions and ceilings
Painting and decorative finishes
Flooring and tiling
Carpentry and joinery installation
Doors and ironmongery
Glass partitions and doors
Wall cladding and feature walls
Kitchen and pantry installation
MEP coordination
Lighting installation
Sanitary fixtures
Final finishes and snagging
3. Drawing & Technical Coordination
Read and understand architectural, interior, joinery and MEP drawings.
Ensure site works are executed according to the latest approved drawings.
Check dimensions, levels and setting-out before commencement of works.
Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
Immediately report drawing conflicts or technical issues to the Project Manager/Engineer.
Ensure approved drawing revisions are communicated to subcontractors and site teams.
Coordinate shop drawings and material details with the relevant teams.
4. Site Planning & Progress
Prepare and monitor daily work activities in coordination with the Project Manager.
Monitor subcontractor progress against the project programme.
Ensure activities are sequenced correctly to avoid delays and rework.
Coordinate multiple trades working simultaneously on site.
Identify potential delays and immediately escalate them to management.
Assist with daily and weekly progress reporting.
Maintain records of manpower and activities completed.
5. Quality Control
Inspect workmanship and materials before and during installation.
Ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications and company standards.
Check completed works before requesting inspections.
Identify defective or incomplete works and ensure rectification.
Monitor finishing quality closely, particularly during final stages of the project.
Assist with internal inspections, consultant inspections and client inspections.
Coordinate and close project snagging items.
6. Material & Equipment Coordination
Check delivered materials against approved specifications and quantities.
Ensure materials are stored correctly and protected from damage.
Coordinate material requirements with the procurement team.
Notify the Project Manager of material shortages or delayed deliveries.
Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and appropriately.
Monitor wastage and report excessive material wastage.
7. Health & Safety
Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with project HSE requirements.
Ensure workers use the required PPE.
Monitor housekeeping and safe working conditions.
Report unsafe practices, incidents and hazards immediately.
Ensure access routes, emergency exits and work areas remain clear.
Participate in toolbox talks and site safety meetings.
Ensure subcontractors comply with site safety requirements.
8. Client & Consultant Coordination
Coordinate with client representatives, consultants and building management when required.
Assist during site inspections and walkthroughs.
Provide technical and progress updates to the Project Manager.
Address minor site coordination issues professionally.
Ensure client/consultant comments are communicated to the relevant trades and closed within agreed timelines.
9. Handover & Close-Out
Coordinate final snagging and rectification works.
Ensure all trades complete their works before handover.
Assist with final inspections.
Ensure protection is removed and areas are properly cleaned.
Assist the Project Manager with project handover.
Support the preparation and completion of as-built drawings, warranties, O&M documentation and other close-out requirements where applicable.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Construction or a related field is preferred.
3–5 years of experience in interior fit-out site supervision.
UAE/GCC fit-out experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of interior finishing and construction activities.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, joinery and MEP drawings.
Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades.
Knowledge of site safety requirements and construction practices.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Strong UAE interior fit-out site experience is highly preferred.
