Job Details

We are seeking a patient and supportive Teacher Assistant to work alongside classroom teachers in delivering a safe, engaging, and well-organised learning environment. Reporting to the Class Teacher, with overall accountability to the Head of Section or Principal, the successful candidate will support instruction, supervise students, and handle the classroom administration that allows the teacher to focus on teaching.

The core of the role is classroom support. The Teacher Assistant helps prepare learning materials, worksheets, and classroom displays ahead of lessons, sets up and clears equipment for activities, and assists the teacher in delivering lessons by working with small groups or individual students who need additional support. During whole-class instruction, the assistant helps maintain focus and good behaviour, redirecting students gently rather than disrupting the flow of the lesson. Under the teacher's direction, the assistant may lead simple activities, reading groups, or revision exercises.
