We are seeking a responsive and patient Help Desk Agent to provide first-line technical and operational support to store staff across our hypermarket locations. Reporting to the IT Support Supervisor or IT Manager, the successful candidate will resolve day-to-day system issues quickly, since a POS or scanner failure on the shop floor has immediate, visible impact on customers and sales.
The core of the role is first-line issue resolution. The Help Desk Agent receives support requests from store staff by phone, radio, ticketing system, or in person, covering issues with POS terminals, barcode scanners, price checkers, self-checkout units, back-office computers, and store network connectivity. Common issues are diagnosed and resolved directly — restarting a till, resetting a scanner, clearing a printer jam, unlocking a user account — with a focus on getting the store operational again as quickly as possible.
