Job Details
We are looking for an individual that demonstrates strong culinary skills, attention to food quality and hygiene, teamwork, time management, adaptability, and the ability to deliver consistent results in a fast-paced breakfast service environment. The ideal candidate must have practical experience in breakfast food preparation, service, and morning kitchen operations within a fast-paced hospitality or café environment (minimum 1-2 years).
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare ingredients for breakfast service (vegetables, fruits, dairy products, meats, sauces, and garnishes).
• Cook breakfast dishes such as eggs, omelettes, pancakes, waffles, French toast, and breakfast meats.
• Prepare and replenish buffet items according to standards.
• Ensure all breakfast items are ready before service begins.
• Assist in live cooking stations, such as egg or omelette stations, when required.
• Maintain speed and accuracy during busy breakfast periods.
Quality Control
• Follow standardised recipes and portion sizes.
• Ensure food quality, taste, temperature, and presentation meet hotel standards.
• Report any quality issues to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Follow HACCP and food safety procedures.
• Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of food items (FIFO – First In, First Out).
• Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors of shortages.
• Store ingredients correctly to prevent spoilage and waste.
• Assist with receiving and checking deliveries when required.
• Work closely with the Chef de Partie, Demi Chef, and other kitchen staff.
• Assist in training junior kitchen staff or trainees when assigned.
• Support other kitchen sections when operational needs require.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Clean and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
• Report faulty equipment immediately.
