Job Responsibilities

Design, prepare and decorate customised cakes, shaped cakes and themed cakes using fondant, buttercream and other suitable decorating techniques.

Interpret customer references and order specifications, and reproduce the requested design as closely as practicable while maintaining Brownie Point’s standards of appearance and finish.

Create sugar paste figurines, characters, flowers and other decorative elements according to the approved design.

Produce larger decorative structures and characters using suitable materials such as modelling chocolate, cereal treats, Styrofoam or cardboard, where required. Clearly identify and safely separate all non-edible components from edible cake portions.

Ensure each cake meets the specified size, flavour, design and finishing requirements before it is released for packing or dispatch.

Plan decorating work around the daily order schedule, complete orders on time and promptly flag any design or production issue that could affect delivery.

Assist with baking cake sponges, brownies, cupcakes and other desserts when required for daily production.

Handle ingredients, finished products, tools and equipment in accordance with food safety and hygiene procedures.

Follow a clean-as-you-go approach and keep workstations, tools, utensils and equipment clean and organised.

Support the team during busy periods and work additional hours when reasonably required, subject to applicable law and company policy.
