Job Details

A reputable organization is seeking a qualified and responsible Safety Officer to monitor workplace safety, identify hazards, implement preventive measures, and ensure compliance with established HSE procedures and UAE safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct daily safety inspections of construction sites and work areas.
Identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and unsafe work practices.
Recommend and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Conduct safety inductions for new employees, workers, and visitors.
Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions.
Monitor high-risk activities and ensure approved safety procedures are followed.
Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.
Assist with incident investigations and prepare detailed safety reports.
Maintain safety inspection checklists, permits, reports, and HSE documentation.
Monitor subcontractors and workers for compliance with safety requirements.
Ensure fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, emergency equipment, and safety signage are properly maintained.
Monitor housekeeping standards and ensure work areas remain clean and safe.
Stop or escalate unsafe work where there is an immediate risk to people or property.
Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, and management regarding safety matters.
Support internal and external HSE inspections and audits.
Stay updated with applicable UAE health and safety requirements.
Promote a strong safety culture throughout the workplace.

Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety certification is an advantage.
Previous experience as a Safety Officer or HSE Officer is preferred.
Construction or industrial site experience is an advantage.
Good knowledge of risk assessment and workplace safety procedures.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and email.
Ability to identify hazards and take appropriate preventive action.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work on-site and in outdoor conditions when required.
