Job Details
Our company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and optimize the company’s operational performance across all projects and
departments. The COO will work closely with the Managing Director to drive strategic
execution, operational excellence, and organizational growth within the construction and project management sector.
This role requires a strong engineering background, with hands-on experience in construction, project management, and operational leadership.
*Key Responsibilities*
Operational Leadership
-Oversee daily operations across all departments including project management, engineering, procurement, and administration.
-Implement operational strategies that improve efficiency, profitability, and project delivery performance.
-Develop and enforce internal processes, workflows, and reporting systems.
Project Oversight
-Supervise ongoing construction and engineering projects to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
-Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
-Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Strategic Planning
-Translate company vision into operational plans and measurable targets.
-Identify opportunities to improve operational performance and reduce costs.
-Support the Managing Director in business development and company expansion
initiatives.
Team Management
-Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams including engineers, project managers, and administrative staff.
-Establish performance metrics and accountability frameworks.
-Recruit and develop high-performing talent.
Financial & Performance Management
-Monitor operational budgets and project profitability.
-Review contracts, procurement strategies, and cost management processes.
-Implement ERP and operational systems to improve reporting and decision-making.
Compliance & Quality
-Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, engineering standards, and contractual obligations.
-Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and project governance.
*Requirements*
Education
-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or related
field)
-Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Construction Management, or Business Administration (MBA) is a strong advantage.
Experience
-Minimum 12–15 years of experience in engineering, construction, or project management.
-At least 5 years in senior leadership or operational management roles.
-Experience managing high-end residential or commercial construction projects
is preferred.
Technical Skills
-Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, procurement, and project delivery.
-Familiarity with Primavera, ERP systems, and project management tools.
-Ability to analyze operational performance and implement improvements.
