Job Title:
Estimator – Marble, Granite & Quartz Works
Job Summary:
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for stone works including marble, granite, and quartz for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. This includes reviewing drawings, performing quantity take-offs, pricing materials and labor, and coordinating with suppliers and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze architectural and shop drawings, specifications, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities)
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for marble, granite, and quartz works
Estimate material requirements (slabs, tiles, wastage allowance, accessories)
Calculate costs for:
Materials (stone, adhesives, sealants, etc.)
Fabrication (cutting, polishing, edge profiling)
Installation (labor, fixing, finishing)
Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
Prepare and submit accurate and competitive quotations/tenders
Identify project risks, variations, and cost-saving opportunities
Coordinate with:
Sales team
Production/factory team
Site engineers
Assist in project handover by providing cost breakdowns and clarifications
Track and manage variations/change orders during project execution
Maintain updated pricing database for materials and labor
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Minimum 2–5 years experience in stone estimation (marble, granite, quartz)
Strong knowledge of:
Stone materials and finishes
Shop drawings and technical details
UAE market pricing (preferred)
Skills Required:
Proficiency in:
AutoCAD
Microsoft Excel
Estimation software (if applicable)
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Preferred Experience:
Experience in kitchen countertops, vanity tops, flooring, wall cladding, and custom stone works
Knowledge of site measurement and fabrication processes
Experience working in UAE/GCC projects
