Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections at telecom work locations.
• Monitor compliance with the company HSE Plan, Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
• Inspect and verify site team documents like 3rd party certificates pre start checklist etc.
• Ensure workers use required PPE correctly.
• Verify PPE 3rd Party certificates and 3rd Party training certificates are valid and available with teams
• Monitor working at height, tower climbing, rooftop and ladder, Electrical activities and monitor barricading and warning signage of work at height areas
• Check proper use and Visual inspection of Rescue Kit, PPE Kit and ensure its safe for use.
• Monitor tools, ladders, lifting equipment and other safety equipment before use.
• Monitor manual handling, material handling and housekeeping.
• Ensure All Teams are following all safety precaution before starting the activity as per Company /customer requirements
• Monitor lifting activities, including pulley/rope arrangements and material movement and its inspection and 3rd party certificates
• Support to Prepare MSRA and HSE Plan
• Attend Client meeting, internal HSE meeting absents of HSE Manager
• Monitor Vehicle daily usage and prepare report share to the higher management
• Inspect vehicle as per the requirement and submit report to the management
• Monitor Driver follow defensive-driving requirements
• Support to complete PPE third party inspection and HSE tools.
• Immediately report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and HSE observations, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences to the HSE Manager and PM.
• Assist with incident investigation and corrective actions.
• Maintain daily HSE inspection and observation records.
• Assist in preparing HSE reports, checklist, Audit documents.
• Follow up on corrective actions and close-out of safety observations.
• Participate in emergency drills and emergency preparedness activities.
• Support to maintain and Monitor CICPA, Military site for the Activity as per the requirements
• Verify availability and condition of first-aid kits, fire extinguishers and emergency contacts.
• Support and Assist employee HSE induction and safety training and ensure it completed before the activity
• Coordinate with site engineers, technicians, riggers, drivers and subcontractors on safety matters.
• Support to Maintain proper HSE documentation and records.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Arts
• NEBOSH IGC .
• IOSH qualification is an advantage.
• First Aid and Fire fighter training preferred.
• UAE HSE experience preferred.
• Telecom construction/implementation experience is an advantage.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of HSE principles and safe working practices.
• Basic knowledge of UAE HSE requirements.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct safety briefings.
• Ability to identify workplace hazards.
• Basic understanding of Risk Assessment
• Good inspection and reporting skills.
• Basic MS Office knowledge,
• Ability to work outdoors and travel to multiple telecom sites.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, riggers, engineers and subcontractors.
• Good observation and problem-solving skills.

The Junior Safety Officer shall have the authority to:

• Stop an activity where an immediate serious safety risk is identified.
• Require unsafe conditions to be corrected before work continues.
• Report non-compliance to the HSE Manager/Project Manager.
• Recommend additional controls where existing controls are inadequate.
• Escalate repeated safety violations to management.
