Primary Responsibilities:

Owns the accounts receivable accounting for cash on delivery (COD) online orders and ensure the following:
That the receivable transactions from the online portal system are timely and properly captured in the financial ledgers. This will require ensuring that the integration between the accounting and reporting system (SAP) and the online portal system are functioning correctly.
Exceptions or transactions missed in the SAP ledgers are properly and timely identified and rectified to ensure that periodic reports are not materially misstated.
Continuous improvement on the integration points between SAP and the online portal system for a more efficient and effective accounting and reporting.
COD receivables collections and reconciliations with Couriers:
Proper and timely clearing of transactions to ensure that correct open items/match sets are maintained for each Courier.
Determination and correction of all open item exceptions and ensuring all process and technical corrections are done to remove repeat errors.
Working with Finance-Operations team to communicate outstanding items with Couriers and follow-up due amounts for collections. Reconciliations for any disputed transactions.
Working with the global team on the COD process improvement and alignment initiatives:
Doing process reviews and documentations and to do risk and gap analyses to identify areas for improvements.
Effective communications with management and global team on COD process concerns that may have material impact to COD accounting and/or operations.
Working FinTech team and Product Managers on new processes, technologies or products that will have an impact on COD accounting and/or operations and ensure that all accounting and financial requirements are carried out before going-live with any changes.
Assessment of the impact that a new product, technology and/or process will have to the accounting and reporting of COD transactions.
Determinations of the requirement to ensure the impacts are properly addressed in the accounting and reporting of COD transactions.
User acceptance testing in all changes done and effective communications of issues and corrections required.
Reporting to management key metrics related to AR, revenues, and user wallets relevant to making management decisions.
Liaise with External and Internal audit teams in the review and audits of balances and processes related to receivables, revenue and user wallets accounts and processes.

Job Requirements:

Licensed CPA or chartered accountant
Minimum 5 years Big 4 audit firm experience (or in a multi-national company in a managerial capacity)
Highly proficient in IFRS and accounting practices
Strong business acumen in the field of retail and e-commerce
Superior spreadsheets skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Possesses good leadership qualities and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with SAP and MYQSL is a plus
