Finance Manager – Construction & Contracting
Location: Dubai, UAE
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Manager to join a medium-to-large contracting company in Dubai.
Candidate Requirements
• CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA or an equivalent professional qualification.
• At least 8–10 years of finance and accounting experience, including a minimum of 3–5 years in a managerial position within a medium or large contracting company.
• Strong knowledge of contract costing and work-in-progress calculation and evaluation in accordance with applicable accounting standards and construction-industry best practices.
• Experience managing the financial aspects of major pipeline, civil construction, substation, service-station, or similar infrastructure projects.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency is mandatory.
• Practical knowledge of payment certification, bank guarantees, letters of credit, UAE VAT, and corporate tax.
• Experience using FOCUS accounting software will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the company’s finance and accounting activities.
• Monitor contract costs, project budgets, profitability, and financial performance.
• Prepare and evaluate work-in-progress calculations for ongoing projects.
• Review payment certificates, project invoices, retentions, and subcontractor payments.
• Manage bank guarantees, letters of credit, banking facilities, and project cash flows.
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and all related reconciliations.
• Ensure timely VAT reporting and compliance with relevant UAE regulations.
• Prepare management accounts, financial reports, forecasts, and cash-flow projections.
• Maintain effective financial controls and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Coordinate with project teams, auditors, banks, clients, consultants, and senior management.
