Job Details

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Cashier to join our hypermarket team. The ideal candidate will handle customer transactions accurately and efficiently while delivering excellent customer service at the checkout counter.
Key Responsibilities
• Greet customers warmly and provide a positive checkout experience
• Scan, weigh, and bag items accurately using POS (point-of-sale) systems
• Process cash, credit/debit card, and digital payments accurately
• Issue receipts, refunds, or change to customers correctly
• Verify age-restricted purchases (alcohol, tobacco, etc.) as required
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe checkout area
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, or direct them to a supervisor when needed
• Count and balance the cash drawer at the start and end of shifts
• Apply discounts, coupons, and loyalty program points correctly
• Monitor for and prevent theft or fraudulent transactions
• Restock bags, receipt paper, and other checkout supplies as needed
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Assist with price checks and product location inquiries
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous cashier or retail experience is a plus, but not mandatory
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately
• Familiarity with POS systems and barcode scanners (training provided)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
• Honest, trustworthy, and attentive to detail
• Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
