Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Accountant will handle daily bookkeeping, record financial transactions, and maintain general ledgers for the company’s shipping and clearance operations. Responsibilities include preparing invoices, tracking accounts receivable and payable, reconciling bank statements, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing. The role will also involve preparing basic financial reports, supporting budgeting and expense tracking, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable accounting standards. The Accountant will collaborate with operations and management to provide accurate financial data for decision-making and support external auditors and regulatory requirements as needed.
Qualifications
Solid knowledge of general accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial reporting.
Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and bank reconciliations.
Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel (e.g., spreadsheets, pivot tables, basic formulas).
Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language is an advantage.
Ability to work collaboratively with operations and management in a fast-paced transportation environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA) are a plus.
Previous experience in Transportation, logistics, or freight forwarding accounting.
