About Us
We are an established UK-based e-commerce company with over 21 years of online retail experience, operating across multiple Amazon marketplaces and other e-commerce channels. As part of our international expansion strategy, we are growing our operations in the UAE and are seeking an experienced E-Commerce Finance Manager / Senior E-Commerce Accountant to establish and manage our finance function in Dubai.
This is a hands-on role for an individual who understands the financial complexities of Amazon, inventory management, international trade, VAT compliance, and marketplace accounting. The successful candidate will take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations of our UAE business while also supporting the wider group's accounting and reporting requirements.
Candidates with UK accounting experience, ACCA qualifications, or previous experience working for UK-based companies will be strongly preferred.

## Key Responsibilities
### Marketplace Accounting & Reconciliation
* Reconcile Amazon and Noon marketplace settlements and payouts.
* Match marketplace disbursements against UAE bank statements.
* Investigate missing payments, discrepancies, chargebacks, returns, and reimbursements.
* Monitor account balances and ensure accurate recording of all marketplace transactions.
* Manage Amazon settlement reporting and reconciliation through A2X or similar software.
### Inventory Accounting & Cost Management
* Maintain accurate inventory records and valuations.
* Calculate and monitor Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
* Account for inventory purchases from suppliers, distributors, and marketplaces.
* Reconcile inventory across Amazon FBA, Noon FBN, third-party logistics providers, and company warehouses.
* Track inventory losses, damaged stock, write-offs, and reimbursement claims.
* Calculate landed costs including freight, customs duties, shipping, and clearance charges.
### Core Accounting & Bookkeeping
* Process supplier invoices and purchase invoices.
* Perform bank reconciliations.
* Manage supplier payment schedules.
* Maintain accurate financial ledgers and accounting records.
* Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
* Maintain fixed asset and inventory registers.
### VAT, Tax & Compliance
* Manage UAE VAT registration and VAT return filings.
* Support UAE Corporate Tax compliance and annual filing requirements.
* Prepare VAT working papers and supporting schedules.
* Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors.
* Support UK accounting requirements where necessary.
* Candidates with knowledge of UK VAT and UK accounting practices will be highly regarded.
### Financial Reporting & Business Analysis
* Prepare monthly management accounts.
* Produce Profit & Loss reports by product, SKU, marketplace, and country.
* Analyse gross profit margins and product profitability.
* Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.
* Produce inventory, sales, and profitability reports for management.
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
### Payroll & Administration
* Manage payroll processing and Wages Protection System (WPS) compliance.
* Process staff expenses, petty cash, utility bills, and vendor payments.
* Maintain accurate records for audit and regulatory purposes.

## Required Qualifications
### Essential
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 4 years' accounting experience within an e-commerce or retail business.
* Experience working with Amazon Seller Central and marketplace accounting.
* Strong understanding of inventory accounting and inventory valuation methods.
* Experience with bank reconciliations, supplier management, and VAT compliance.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function.
### Preferred
* ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
* Previous experience working for a UK company or managing UK accounts.
* Knowledge of UK VAT and UK accounting practices.
* Experience using Xero, A2X, Cin7 Core, or Linnworks.
* Experience with multi-country Amazon operations.
* Experience managing accounting functions across multiple legal entities.
