TMRW is seeking a Financial Controller to lead finance across the TMRW Group companies in Luxembourg, Germany, Spain, Hungary and the UAE. The role is based in the UAE and serves as the central point of financial coordination for the group.
The Financial Controller will own intercompany accounting end to end, ensuring that balances, recharges and settlements between TMRW entities are accurate, documented and reconciled on a monthly basis. The role is also the primary counterpart to the external accounting, audit and tax firms that support our entities in each jurisdiction, and to the finance contacts in our other offices.
This is a hands-on position. The successful candidate will run the close, maintain a robust control environment, and provide leadership with timely, reliable financial insight. As an AI-first company, we expect our Controller to operate an AI-enabled finance function, using tools such as Claude and Codex as a core part of daily work rather than an occasional aid.

Group finance coordination is based in the UAE. The Financial Controller sits at the intersection of our entities, our external advisors and our leadership team, and plays a key role in ensuring the group scales on a sound financial footing.
Key responsibilities
Intercompany accounting and group reporting
- Own the intercompany framework end to end, including recharges, management fees, cost allocations, intercompany loans and cash settlements.
- Reconcile intercompany balances with all TMRW entities monthly and resolve differences ahead of each close.
- Maintain intercompany agreements and transfer pricing documentation in compliance with UAE Corporate Tax and the transfer pricing rules of Luxembourg, Germany, Hungary and Spain.
- Prepare consolidation packages and support group consolidation, including eliminations and foreign currency translation.
External advisors and group offices
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the external accounting, audit and tax firms engaged across the group.
- Define scopes, timelines and deliverables for each firm; review their output critically and hold them accountable for quality and deadlines.
- Align accounting policies, the chart of accounts and the reporting calendar with finance contacts in each TMRW office.
- Monitor advisor fees and performance, and recommend where to consolidate, change providers or bring work in-house.
Financial close, reporting and audit
- Lead the monthly, quarterly and year-end close for all four group companies, running the UAE close directly and coordinating the Luxembourg, German, Hungary and Spanish closes with local accounting firms.
- Prepare group management accounts and IFRS consolidated reporting with clear variance analysis for leadership, and oversee local statutory financial statements under Luxembourg GAAP, German HGB and Spanish PGC.
- Manage the annual statutory audits in each jurisdiction, including preparation of supporting schedules, auditor liaison and resolution of findings.
- Own budgeting, forecasting and cash flow projections for each group company and the consolidated group plan.
Tax and regulatory compliance
- Oversee UAE Corporate Tax and VAT compliance, including computations, filings, registrations and record-keeping, in coordination with external tax advisors.
- Monitor developments in UAE and EU tax, accounting and regulatory requirements, including DAC6 reporting where applicable and UAE free zone or mainland obligations, and update practices accordingly.
- Coordinate corporate income tax, VAT and statutory filings in Luxembourg, Germany. Hungary and Spain with local advisors, and support Economic Substance, UBO register and other filings across the group.
Treasury, payables and receivables
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment runs, bank reconciliations and the general ledger, whether performed in-house or by an outsourced provider.
- Manage banking relationships and monitor liquidity and working capital across group bank accounts in all jurisdictions.
- Approve and control payments to internal and external parties within the delegated authority framework.
Internal controls and governance
- Design, implement and maintain internal controls, the delegation of authority matrix and group accounting policies.
- Document key finance processes so the function remains resilient through changes in staff or service providers.
AI-enabled finance operations
- Use AI tools such as Claude and Codex daily for reconciliations, variance analysis, reporting, document review and policy drafting.
- Identify repetitive finance workflows and automate them, from data extraction and journal preparation to close checklists and management reporting.
- Build and maintain prompts, scripts and integrations between AI tools and our ERP, banking and reporting systems, with appropriate review and control over AI-generated outputs.
- Set standards for responsible AI use in finance, including data handling, accuracy checks and audit trail requirements.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and a recognised professional qualification (ACCA, CPA or CA).
* 10+ years of experience in accounting and financial controlling, including senior controlling roles with multi-entity, cross-border responsibility.
* Demonstrated experience managing intercompany accounting across multiple entities and jurisdictions, including reconciliations, recharges and consolidation.
* Sound working knowledge of IFRS, UAE Corporate Tax and UAE VAT, and familiarity with European accounting and tax frameworks (ideally Luxembourg, Germany, Hungary or Spain), with practical exposure to OECD transfer pricing.
* Proven experience managing external accounting, audit or tax firms, including scoping engagements, reviewing deliverables and resolving issues.
* Strong, hands-on proficiency with AI tools such as Claude and Codex in a professional finance context, with concrete examples of how they have improved your accuracy, speed or controls.
* Advanced spreadsheet skills and experience with at least one cloud ERP or accounting platform (e.g. NetSuite, Xero, Zoho Books, QuickBooks).
* Excellent written and verbal English, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance leaders.
Nice to have qualifications
- Experience working with AI agents in a finance or operations setting executing multi-step tasks.
- Ability to design and build agentic systems that automate finance workflows end to end, for example intercompany reconciliation, invoice processing or close orchestration, with human review at the right control points.
- Familiarity with connecting AI agents to business systems through APIs or the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and with basic scripting in Python or SQL.
Prior experience with a Big Four or leading mid-tier audit firm.
- Background in a technology, SaaS or venture-backed company.
- Experience with UAE free zone entities and their regulatory requirements.
- Experience implementing or migrating an ERP, or building a finance function from an early stage.
Working proficiency in German, Spanish, French or Arabic.
