We are seeking a vigilant and discreet Loss Prevention Officer to protect the organisation against theft, fraud, and inventory loss. Reporting to the Loss Prevention Manager or Security Manager, the successful candidate will monitor store or facility activity, investigate suspicious behaviour, and work to reduce shrinkage across the business.
The core of the role is surveillance and observation. The Loss Prevention Officer monitors the sales floor, stockroom, and checkout areas both in person and via CCTV, watching for behaviour patterns associated with shoplifting, internal theft, and fraud. Suspects are observed discreetly and continuously from the moment suspicious behaviour is noted until either resolved or confirmed, since acting too early — before an item has actually left the store or been concealed with intent — undermines any subsequent action.
