Description
An antique Soviet-era porcelain Tea/Coffee set consisting of 21 pieces and ornamented with brown and gold flowers, produced in the famous Riga Porcelain Factory (RPR) in the early 1970s.
The “MARIANNA” set, designed by Eriks Ellerts, was awarded with a Gold Medal in the international Industrial Exhibition, Plovdiv in 1980. Each piece in the set carries the official mark of the Riga Porcelain Factory and the Tea/Coffee pot also carries the State Quality Mark of the USSR (the official Soviet mark for the certification of quality).
The set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hidden repairs. The set is unused, having been used only for display purposes since its purchase at auction in the early 1990s.
It is doubtful that another complete set of the Marianna collection exists in such perfect condition anywhere else in the world, and thus the set is a collector’s item.
The set consists of
6 x cups
6 x saucers
6 x plates
1 x creamer
1 x sugar bowl
1 x coffee / tea pot
