Description

Tibet Currency-100 Strang, for collectable purpose

Unique Paper Money Production: Tibetan banknotes, introduced in the early 20th century, were printed on thick, handmade coarse paper using intricate woodblocks.
Handwritten Calligraphy: While machine printing was eventually used for some banknote designs, all historical Tibetan paper money had its serial numbers meticulously written by hand by professionally trained calligraphers.
Poisonous Weed Paper: To protect the paper currency from insects, the Chin-Tung Paper Factory (near Lhasa) infused the paper with the root of a poisonous weed.
