ABOUT THE WORK & ARTIST
Across a three-panel canvas washed in poured lilac, violet and indigo, five faceted figures tumble and leap through space, built — like the artist's other work — entirely from a mosaic of gold and navy triangles. Checkerboard spheres and
scattered gold fragments drift alongside them, reinforcing a sense of weightlessness and motion. Painted in 2016, this is a large and early example of Rusnak's triangulated figures, made the same year she won the Rixos Magazine Choice
Prize.

Yana Rusnak (b. 1993, Ukraine) fuses figuration with geometric abstraction through a recurring vocabulary of triangles, gold and silver leaf, and fluid, poured backgrounds. She has exhibited internationally, including Art Miami, Art Palm Beach and Artmonaco, and held a solo exhibition at Villa Klimt in Vienna.
