Tamara De Lempicka (1898-1980) was a master artist and brilliant exponent of the Art Deco style which celebrated the modern "machine age" emerging in the early decades of the 20th Century. Ms. de Lempicka was probably the most famous painter of Art Deco style which was the rage in Europe and America during the 1920's.
She was an icon of the"Jazz Age", a glamorous, unconventional, free-spirit who typified the "bohemian" lifestyle now associated with the Roaring 20's. Art Deco was an exciting and innovative form of art, architecture, furnishing, interior design, jewelry, and still seems contemporary and fresh after 80 years. Ms. Lempicka became an influential force early in the movement beginning with her exhibition at the first Art Deco expo in Paris
