We are seeking a commercially minded and hands-on Hypermarket Department Supervisor to run a single department, such as grocery, fresh produce, dairy and chilled, bakery, general merchandise, or electronics, and deliver its sales, availability, freshness, and standards. Reporting to the Department Manager or Assistant Store Manager, the successful candidate will lead the department team, own its daily results, and make sure customers find a full, fresh, correctly priced range every time they shop.
The core of the role is departmental leadership and shift supervision. The Department Supervisor opens the department against a checklist, briefs the team on promotions, deliveries, and priorities, and keeps a visible presence on the floor to catch empty shelves, pricing errors, and quality problems before customers do. Work is allocated by skill and footfall, and the supervisor steps in personally during peaks, whether that means replenishing, serving at a counter, or assisting customers.
