We are seeking a versatile and customer-focused General Merchandise Assistant to support sales and stock activities in the non-food or general merchandise section of the store. Reporting to the Department Supervisor or Store Manager, the successful candidate will assist customers, maintain product displays, and ensure the department remains well-stocked and organised across categories such as homeware, electronics, apparel, toys, or seasonal goods.
The core of the role is stock replenishment and presentation. The General Merchandise Assistant unpacks and stocks shelves, racks, and displays according to the planogram, faces and arranges products neatly, and ensures pricing and promotional signage match the current campaign. Seasonal and promotional ranges are set up and taken down on schedule, and gaps in stock are identified and replenished promptly or reported to the supervisor when backstore inventory has run out.
