About the Role
We are seeking a professional, energetic, and customer-focused Head Waiter/Head Waitress to lead our front-of-house service team. This role is essential in creating a memorable dining experience for our guests and ensuring that service standards remain consistently high.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising service staff, supporting daily restaurant operations, maintaining excellent customer relations, and helping create a welcoming environment that reflects the warmth and hospitality our restaurant is known for.
As an Ethiopian restaurant, we value individuals who appreciate cultural hospitality and enjoy helping guests understand and experience Ethiopian dining traditions. Previous experience with Ethiopian cuisine or hospitality is highly valued but not required.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Service Excellence
Ensure all guests receive friendly, professional, and attentive service.
Welcome guests and assist with seating arrangements when needed.
Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
Address customer concerns, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally.
Create a warm, welcoming, and positive atmosphere for all guests.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead and supervise front-of-house staff during service.
Assist with training new employees and ongoing staff development.
Ensure team members maintain professional appearance and conduct.
Support staff in delivering exceptional customer service.
Promote teamwork, communication, and accountability within the service team.
Dining Room Operations
Coordinate service activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Monitor table turnover, reservations, and guest flow.
Ensure service standards are maintained during busy periods.
Assist management in implementing operational improvements.
Support communication between kitchen and service staff.
Menu Knowledge and Guest Assistance
Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
Assist guests with menu recommendations and dietary inquiries.
Explain Ethiopian dishes and dining traditions when appropriate.
Help guests feel comfortable trying new menu items and cultural dining experiences.
Quality, Hygiene, and Professional Standards
Ensure cleanliness and organization throughout the dining area.
Monitor compliance with hygiene, safety, and sanitation requirements.
Ensure all staff follow restaurant policies and service procedures.
Support management in maintaining professional standards at all times.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hospitality, restaurant service, customer service, or a related field.
Previous supervisory, shift leader, or team leadership experience is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Ability to lead by example and motivate team members.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in Ethiopian restaurants or with Ethiopian cuisine.
Familiarity with Ethiopian hospitality traditions and dining customs.
Ability to communicate in Amharic is an advantage but not required.
Hospitality-related education or training is beneficial but not mandatory.
