As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Logistics Operations Manager to lead our UAE and Iraq operations team and ensure world-class execution across all shipments.

Position Summary

The Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing the complete operations function for UAE and Iraq trade lanes.

This position oversees all operational activities from booking confirmation through final delivery, ensuring shipments are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Procurement, Finance, Overseas Agents, Shipping Lines, Customs Brokers, Transport Companies, and Clients to deliver exceptional logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
Lead and manage the UAE & Iraq Operations Department.
Supervise daily freight forwarding operations.
Allocate workloads and monitor team performance.
Develop SOPs and continuously improve operational processes.
Ensure compliance with company policies and customer requirements.
Shipment Management

Manage complete shipment execution including:

Ocean Freight (FCL/LCL)
Air Freight
Cross-border Trucking
Iraq Transportation
Customs Clearance
Port Operations
Project Cargo
Heavy Lift
Breakbulk
Last Mile Delivery
Iraq Trade Lane Management
Coordinate all Iraq import and export shipments.
Work closely with Iraq offices and local agents.
Manage Umm Qasr Port operations.
Coordinate customs clearance and inland transportation.
Resolve operational challenges throughout Iraq.
Monitor cargo movement until final delivery.
Customer Service
Maintain proactive communication with customers.
Provide shipment status updates.
Resolve customer issues promptly.
Ensure high customer satisfaction.
Support Key Account Management.
Vendor & Agent Coordination
Coordinate with overseas agents.
Manage transport companies.
Coordinate shipping lines and airlines.
Work closely with customs brokers.
Manage warehouse operations.
Monitor supplier service performance.
Commercial Support
Support Sales and Commercial teams.
Review operational feasibility.
Recommend logistics solutions.
Participate in project planning.
Improve service competitiveness.
Cost Control
Monitor operational costs.
Control transport expenses.
Review supplier invoices.
Verify operational charges.
Reduce unnecessary logistics costs.
Improve operational profitability.

Review and approve:

Resolve shipment delays.
Handle emergency situations.
Manage cargo claims.
Ensure cargo safety.
Maintain compliance with regulations.
Team Leadership
Train operations staff.
Coach junior employees.
Conduct performance reviews.
Improve operational efficiency.
Build a high-performing operations team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 8 years of international freight forwarding experience.
Minimum 3 years in an Operations Manager or Team Leader role.
Strong experience with Iraq logistics is highly preferred.
Experience in project logistics is an advantage.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Strong commercial awareness.
Experience with CargoWise, ERP, or freight management systems.
Fluent English (Arabic is an advantage).
