Legal Translator – Arabic & English
Location: Dubai, UAE
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Arabic–English Legal Translator who is actively registered with the UAE Ministry of Justice.
The successful candidate will translate and certify legal and official documents with a high level of accuracy. The role requires strong knowledge of UAE legal terminology, excellent command of Arabic and English, and the ability to manage confidential and time-sensitive assignments independently.
Key Responsibilities
• Translate legal and official documents from Arabic into English and from English into Arabic.
• Translate contracts, court documents, powers of attorney, corporate documents, certificates, legal notices and other official materials.
• Personally complete, certify and stamp translations in line with MOJ requirements and the candidate’s authorised language pair.
• Ensure the original meaning, legal effect, names, dates, figures and document structure are accurately preserved.
• Proofread and review translations for accuracy, completeness, terminology and formatting.
• Ensure documents meet the requirements of courts, notaries, government authorities and other receiving organisations.
• Maintain consistent terminology through approved templates and bilingual legal glossaries.
• Maintain proper records of completed translation assignments.
• Liaise with clients, law firms, PRO agents, notaries and government departments when required.
• Provide Arabic–English interpretation during meetings or official appointments when required and legally permitted.
• Support the preparation of quotations and expected delivery timelines.
• Manage urgent assignments without reducing quality or accuracy.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and secure handling of all documents.
• Keep the candidate’s MOJ registration, translator card, insurance and other required qualifications valid and current.
• Work only within the languages authorised under the candidate’s MOJ registration.
• Follow company quality standards and all applicable MOJ requirements.
Requirements
• Mandatory active registration as a Legal Translator with the UAE Ministry of Justice.
• MOJ-authorised Arabic–English language pair.
• Valid translator card, registration number and completed legal-oath requirements.
• Recognised university degree in Translation, Linguistics, Law or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional legal translation experience.
• Excellent written and spoken Arabic and English.
• Strong knowledge of UAE legal terminology and legal-document formats.
• Familiarity with UAE mainland legal concepts and DIFC and ADGM legal terminology.
• Previous experience with a licensed translation company, law firm, court, notary or government-related service is preferred.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently under strict deadlines.
• Currently based in the UAE and available to work in Dubai.
• Ability to provide proof of MOJ registration, authorised languages and registration validity.
• Ability to meet any MOJ requirements for working through the new translation company.
