LSA / Shadow Teacher – Autism & Special Educational Needs
We are looking for a caring, patient and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA)/Shadow Teacher to provide one-to-one support for a child (5 years) in Dubai Creek Harbour.
We are looking for someone who can genuinely connect with the child at their level, understand their individual way of communicating and experiencing the world, and use that connection to encourage their development, communication, independence and participation.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Saturday, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Dubai Creek Harbour
Salary: 2000-3000 AED based on experience and qualifications
Requirements
- Previous experience as an LSA, Shadow Teacher, SEND Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role
- Good understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Patient, calm, caring, positive and reliable
- Ability to build trust and form a genuine connection with the child
- Ability to understand the child's individual needs, communication style and behaviour
- Able to encourage the child's communication, learning, social interaction, independence and overall development
- Good communication skills in English
- Able to work closely and professionally with the child, teachers, school and parents
- ABA, RBT, SEN, Special Education, Psychology, or related training/certification is an advantage
- Basic knowledge or experience with Speech and Language Therapy techniques is an advantage
- Basic knowledge or experience with Occupational Therapy (OT) techniques, including sensory needs and regulation, is an advantage
- Previous experience in a Dubai/UAE school is an advantage
- References from previous families or schools are preferred
