We are seeking a compassionate and professionally trained School Counselor to support the academic, social, and emotional wellbeing of students. Reporting to the Principal or Vice Principal (Student Affairs), the successful candidate will work with students, families, and teachers to remove barriers to learning and help every child feel safe, supported, and able to succeed.
The core of the role is individual and group counselling. The School Counselor meets with students who are experiencing emotional difficulties, friendship or family problems, anxiety, low motivation, bullying, grief, or difficulty adjusting to school, offering short-term counselling and practical coping strategies within the boundaries of their training. Small group sessions on topics such as social skills, stress management, or transition support are planned and delivered where a shared need exists. Students whose needs go beyond what school-based counselling can provide are referred promptly to appropriate external specialists, with the family involved throughout.
