MASTER CUTTER & PATTERN MAKER
Abaya & Fashion Tailoring Boutique
Location: Dubai, UAE
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are looking for an experienced Master Cutter & Pattern Maker to join our luxury abaya and fashion tailoring boutique.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge in pattern making, fabric cutting, garment construction, and fitting, with proven experience working with abayas and high-end women’s fashion.
Key Responsibilities
* Create and develop accurate patterns for abayas, dresses, and other women’s fashion pieces based on designs and sketches.
* Prepare patterns for new designs, including developing new cuts, shapes, and silhouettes.
* Expertly cut fabrics according to approved patterns while minimizing fabric waste.
* Take measurements accurately and translate them into precise patterns.
* Adjust and modify patterns according to fittings and client measurements.
* Work closely with the designer and tailoring team to ensure the final garment matches the intended design, proportions, and fit.
* Handle delicate and luxury fabrics such as organza, chiffon, tulle, crepe, silk, and embellished fabrics with care.
* Ensure symmetry, accurate measurements, clean cutting, and consistency across all pieces.
* Understand different abaya constructions, including wide, flared, double-kloush, layered, and structured designs.
* Prepare patterns and cutting for made-to-measure and custom orders.
* Identify technical issues in designs and suggest practical cutting or construction solutions.
* Maintain high standards of precision and quality throughout the production process.
* Coordinate with tailors and production staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Master Cutter / Pattern Maker, preferably in abayas or luxury women’s fashion.
* Strong experience in abaya pattern making and cutting is highly preferred.
* Excellent understanding of measurements, proportions, garment construction, and fabric behavior.
* Ability to work independently from sketches, reference images, and samples.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Experience with luxury and delicate fabrics.
* Ability to work under deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to create and modify patterns according to individual client measurements.
* Experience with custom-made and couture-style garments is an advantage.
