Interior Architect / Architect – Technical Office & Site Coordination

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Interior Architect / Architect to lead drawing production, technical detailing, material selection and coordination for our villa, interior fit-out and exterior works projects.
This role combines technical office responsibilities, leadership of the drafting team and regular site involvement. The successful candidate must be able to develop clear, complete and coordinated construction drawings, resolve technical details and support the site team throughout execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, checking, correction and coordination of architectural and interior drawing packages, including IFC (Issued for Construction), shop drawings and as-built drawings, through the required review and approval process.
- Manage the drafting team, allocate tasks, establish priorities and ensure drawings are accurate, complete and delivered in line with project requirements.
- Prepare and review layouts, setting-out drawings, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, flooring layouts, schedules and detailed construction drawings.
- Develop practical details for joinery, ceilings, partitions, doors, marble and stone, porcelain, glass, metalwork, wall finishes, wet areas and exterior architectural elements.
- Select and coordinate materials, finishes and hardware in line with the approved design, project budget and availability. Prepare material schedules and coordinate samples and submissions for approval.
- Coordinate architectural and interior drawings with structural and MEP information, including HVAC, lighting, electrical points, plumbing, drainage, service openings and maintenance access.
- Review supplier and subcontractor shop drawings, identify discrepancies and ensure comments and approved changes are correctly incorporated.
- Carry out site visits, surveys and dimensional checks. Coordinate and verify site marking and setting out, including partitions, openings, ceiling levels, flooring layouts and joinery positions.
- Inspect ongoing works against approved drawings, details and material selections, identify discrepancies and follow up on corrective actions with the project team.
- Resolve technical queries with project managers, site engineers, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors. Raise RFIs and prepare revised details where clarification is required.
- Coordinate drawing and material requirements with procurement and site teams to support timely purchasing, fabrication and installation.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision records and approval status, ensuring the site team receives the latest approved information. Support snagging, as-built documentation and handover.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in architectural/interior fit-out projects, including IFC drawings, technical office and site coordination responsibilities.
- Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture or a relevant discipline.
- Proven experience in technical drawing development and execution coordination for villas, interior fit-out and exterior architectural works.
- Experience leading draftsmen and checking complete construction drawing packages.
- Strong AutoCAD skills and the ability to personally prepare, review and correct detailed drawings.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, material applications, joinery detailing and interfaces between architectural finishes and MEP services.
- Practical experience in site inspections, setting out and resolving differences between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage drawing priorities across multiple projects.
- UAE project experience is an advantage.
