About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Draftsman with strong practical knowledge of IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings, interior fit-out, joinery, exterior architectural works and MEP coordination.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Architect / Technical Lead and project teams to produce accurate, detailed and coordinated drawings for approval, fabrication and site execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare architectural and interior IFC drawings and shop drawings, including dimensioned plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, flooring layouts, setting-out drawings and construction details.
- Produce detailed joinery drawings for kitchens, wardrobes, cabinets, vanities, doors, wall panelling and custom furniture, including materials, dimensions, sections, hardware and fixing details.
- Prepare interior details covering ceilings, partitions, wall finishes, marble and stone, porcelain, glass, metalwork and wet areas.
- Prepare exterior architectural drawings and details, including elevations, cladding, external finishes and connections with adjoining works.
- Read and coordinate MEP drawings with architectural and interior layouts, including AC ducts and grilles, lighting, electrical points, plumbing, drainage, access panels and service openings.
- Identify clashes, missing dimensions, inconsistent details and incomplete information, and raise them with the Architect / Technical Lead before drawings are issued.
- Accurately incorporate marked-up corrections, consultant comments, approved changes and verified site measurements.
- Coordinate with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify dimensions, fabrication requirements and installation details.
- Maintain organised CAD files, drawing numbers, revision records and drawing registers.
- Prepare as-built drawings based on verified site information and approved changes.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in architectural and interior technical drafting.
- Demonstrated experience producing IFC and shop drawing packages for construction and fit-out projects.
- Strong joinery detailing experience, with an understanding of fabrication and installation requirements.
- Practical drawing experience covering both interior and exterior architectural works.
- Good knowledge of MEP drawings and coordination with architectural layouts and finishes.
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency, including layers, blocks, external references, layouts, scales and plotting.
- Ability to read design drawings, specifications, sketches and site measurements and translate them into clear construction details.
- High attention to accuracy, dimensions, levels, material thicknesses and coordination between drawings.
- Ability to work independently on assigned drawing packages, follow technical direction and meet deadlines.
- A relevant drafting, architectural or technical qualification is preferred. UAE project experience is an advantage.
