# MEP Coordinator – Dubai, UAE

### About the Role
We are looking for an experienced **MEP Coordinator** to join our construction team in Dubai.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring all MEP activities on the project, ensuring proper coordination between MEP subcontractors, consultants, architectural, structural and civil teams, and ensuring that MEP works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements and UAE regulations.
The ideal candidate should have strong **UAE construction experience**, preferably with residential or high-rise building projects, and be capable of independently handling day-to-day MEP coordination and technical issues on site.
### Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate all MEP works including **HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Fighting and ELV** systems.
* Coordinate MEP works with civil, structural and architectural works to avoid clashes and site conflicts.
* Review MEP shop drawings, coordinated drawings, material submittals, method statements and technical documents.
* Coordinate with MEP subcontractors and follow up on technical submissions and approvals.
* Review drawings and identify discrepancies, clashes and constructability issues before and during execution.
* Raise and follow up **RFIs, technical queries and site issues** with consultants and design teams.
* Coordinate with the Consultant, Main Contractor, MEP subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
* Monitor MEP installation progress and ensure works are carried out according to the approved programme.
* Attend MEP coordination meetings and follow up on outstanding technical and site issues.
* Coordinate inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
* Follow up on MEP authority inspections and approvals where required.
* Coordinate with relevant Dubai authorities and requirements, including **DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence (DCD), Dubai Municipality and Trakhees**, where applicable.
* Review and coordinate as-built drawings and MEP handover documentation.
* Ensure MEP works comply with approved drawings, specifications, QA/QC requirements and HSE procedures.
* Assist the Project Manager / MEP Manager in resolving technical and coordination issues.
* Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure timely completion of MEP works.
### Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in **Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline**.
* **5–8 years of relevant MEP experience** in building construction projects.
* Minimum **3 years of UAE/Dubai construction experience** preferred.
* Experience with **residential, high-rise, commercial or mixed-use building projects** is highly preferred.
* Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, firefighting and ELV systems.
* Good knowledge of MEP shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs and inspection procedures.
* Good understanding of coordination between MEP, architectural, structural and civil works.
* Good knowledge of **UAE/Dubai authority requirements**, particularly DEWA, DCD, Dubai Municipality and Trakhees where applicable.
* Proficiency in **AutoCAD** is required.
* Knowledge of **Revit MEP and Navisworks** is an advantage.
* Good command of written and spoken **English**.
* Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple subcontractors.
* UAE Driving License is an advantage.
### Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience with a **Main Contractor** in Dubai/UAE.
* Experience working on **residential/high-rise projects**.
* Experience dealing directly with Consultants and MEP subcontractors.
* Experience with **DEWA / DCD / Trakhees inspections and approvals**.
* Experience in testing, commissioning and project handover.
* Engineering degree with relevant UAE experience is preferred.

We are looking for a practical and proactive MEP Coordinator who can work closely with the site team and subcontractors, identify problems before they become site issues, and ensure that MEP works progress smoothly and in coordination with the overall construction programme.
