Beauty Salon Cleaner
Role Summary
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented cleaner to maintain the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and presentation throughout our premium beauty salon. The ideal candidate must be organised, proactive, discreet, and able to work efficiently in a busy salon environment.
Main Responsibilities
* Clean and disinfect salon stations, chairs, mirrors, trolleys, sinks, and work surfaces.
* Prepare and clean each workstation before and immediately after every client.
* Sweep and mop floors regularly, especially after hair services.
* Keep the reception, waiting area, consultation area, staff room, pantry, storage rooms, and restrooms clean and presentable.
* Clean glass, mirrors, doors, shelves, furniture, and decorative items without leaving marks or dust.
* Collect, wash, dry, fold, and correctly store towels, robes, capes, and aprons.
* Separate clean and used salon textiles to prevent cross-contamination.
* Empty bins regularly and dispose of hair, colour materials, gloves, foils, and other waste safely.
* Refill soap, tissues, toilet paper, sanitiser, disposable towels, and other hygiene supplies.
* Keep the pantry clean, wash cups and dishes, and ensure refreshments are stored hygienically.
* Monitor cleaning products and consumable supplies and report low stock to the manager before items run out.
* Follow the salon’s opening, daytime, and closing cleaning checklists.
* Immediately report damage, leaks, broken equipment, stains, pest concerns, or maintenance issues.
* Support the salon team with reasonable cleaning-related requests during working hours.
* Complete periodic deep-cleaning tasks, including cupboards, storage shelves, air vents, skirting boards, upholstery, and hard-to-reach areas.
Hygiene and Safety Standards
* Use the correct cleaning products for marble, glass, mirrors, metal, wood, upholstery, and salon equipment.
* Follow all hygiene, health, and safety procedures.
* Wear gloves and protective equipment when handling chemicals or waste.
* Never mix cleaning chemicals.
* Handle salon furniture, products, equipment, and clients’ belongings carefully.
* Do not move, use, or dispose of professional products or clients’ hair without permission.
* Maintain personal hygiene and wear a clean, professional uniform.
* Maintain confidentiality regarding clients, employees, and salon operations.
Requirements
* Previous cleaning experience in a beauty salon, spa, clinic, hotel, or luxury environment is preferred.
* Good understanding of professional hygiene and cleaning standards.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to notice tasks without constant instruction.
* Honest, punctual, respectful, and responsible.
* Able to work efficiently during busy periods.
* Physically able to stand, bend, lift laundry baskets, and perform cleaning duties throughout the shift.
* Basic English communication skills.
* Flexible availability according to the salon schedule, including weekends when required.
Performance Expectations
The salon cleaner will be evaluated based on:
* Overall cleanliness and presentation of the salon.
* Speed and quality of workstation turnaround.
* Cleanliness and availability of towels, robes, and capes.
