The Beautician delivers a range of professional beauty treatments — facials, waxing, threading, manicures, pedicures, and makeup — to a consistently high standard. The role combines technical skill with strong client care, ensuring every guest leaves satisfied and eager to return, while maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards throughout the salon.
Key responsibilities
• Perform facial treatments, cleansing, exfoliation, masks, and skin analysis suited to each client's skin type and concerns
• Carry out hair removal services including waxing, threading, and tweezing
• Provide manicure, pedicure, nail shaping, and polish or gel application services
• Apply makeup for everyday, bridal, and special-occasion clients
• Consult with clients before treatment to understand their needs, identify contraindications, and recommend suitable services
• Advise on skincare routines and recommend retail products, supporting salon sales targets
• Sterilise tools, sanitise workstations, and dispose of single-use items in line with health and hygiene regulations
• Maintain accurate client records, including treatments performed, products used, and any allergies or sensitivities
• Manage appointment bookings and timekeeping to minimise client waiting
• Monitor product stock levels and report replenishment needs to the manager
• Stay current with new techniques, products, and industry trends through ongoing training
• Uphold salon presentation standards and contribute to a welcoming, professional atmosphere
Qualifications and requirements
• Diploma or certificate in Beauty Therapy, Cosmetology, or an equivalent recognised qualification
• [1–3] years' experience in a salon or spa environment (freshers with strong practical training may be considered)
• Valid professional licence or trade certification where required by local regulation
• Demonstrated skill in facials, waxing, threading, and nail care
• Sound knowledge of skin types, conditions, and product ingredients
• Understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and health and safety practices
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; discreet and professional with clients
• Well-groomed, punctual, and presentable
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
