Job Description

Job Summary

The Revenue Integrity Manager serves as a leader in the revenue cycle and is responsible for supporting the revenue capture and daily charge reconciliation processes by partnering with the clinical directors of revenue related departments within the health system, to optimize the charge capture process. Also, manages and maintains payer contracting compliance, CDM maintenance, transaction posting, PFS document management and denial recovery/management.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Create and manage a system wide program to identify charge capture opportunities and trends while working directly with both clinical and administrative areas to implement any required changes to optimize charge capture and reconciliation.
Responsible for maintaining the Charge Description Master (CDM) and supporting charge capture processes are clearly defined and optimized.
Assures optimization of revenue cycle operations by applying process improvement concepts to reduce/eliminate denials/underpayments.
Analyzes the assessment results, develops recommendations for process improvement, and monitors the results of implemented changes.
Manages quarterly evaluation of payer contract performance.
Manages payer contract negotiation preparation.
Ensures staffing and scheduling of staff are optimum to meet operational needs.
Conducts Third Party Payer and other audits as requested by external customers. This position will include assisting in any education that may be needed related to charge capture, coding, documentation, and the reconciliation process.
Supervises staff and assists in the training of new employees.
Handles employee performance evaluation and feedback.

Skills

Experience Requirements

Experience in hospital operations and a general understanding of revenue cycle with an emphasis on billing, coding and charge capture.
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a supervisory/leadership role is required preferably in a hospital, health insurance company, or other health care setting.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT-4, HCPCS and ICD -9 CM/10 coding and contract management; clinical experience a plus.
Ability to speak and write in English is required, Arabic is preferred.
Strong oral and written communications skill.
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience interacting with clinicians and payers.
Fully embraces the culture of CCAD and the Patient's First values.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or other related healthcare field is required.
In the absence of a Bachelor's Degree mentioned above, and equivalent experience of six (6) years working in the same capacity in a hospital, clinic or health insurance company involved in provider/patient contacts will be considered.
Certified Billing Specialist or CMRS (Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist) preferred.
Master's degree in Health Care Administration or Business Administration preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Typical physical demands include: a high degree of manual dexterity to sufficiently perform computer functions on a keyboard, produce materials on a PC and operate basic office equipment, normal or corrected vision and hearing, extensive sitting, mobility sufficient to visit with departments or employees throughout CCAD and lift up to 30 lbs.
