We are looking for an experienced and technically knowledgeable **Check-Up Team Supervisor / Damage Controller** to supervise the vehicle inspection team and ensure that the company fleet is maintained in excellent condition.
The successful candidate will be responsible for vehicle check-ups, damage control, fleet condition monitoring, team supervision, and ensuring that all vehicle statuses and damages are correctly registered in the company system.
## Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and manage the team of vehicle check-up technicians.
* Assign daily tasks and monitor the performance and productivity of team members.
* Ensure that all vehicles are properly inspected before and after each rental.
* Maintain the fleet in safe, clean, and good operating condition.
* Identify, document, and report vehicle damages, mechanical issues, warning lights, and missing items.
* Ensure that all new and existing damages are accurately recorded in the company system.
* Make sure the correct status of every vehicle is updated in the system, including:
* Available
* Under check-up
* Under preparation
* Under maintenance
* Damaged
* Ready for rent
* Stop rent
* Review vehicle inspection reports, photographs, and damage records.
* Investigate damages and assist in determining when and how the damage occurred.
* Determine whether damage should be charged to the customer, covered by insurance, sent to the workshop, or handled internally.
* Coordinate with the customer service, operations, workshop, preparation, and fleet departments.
* Ensure damaged or unsafe vehicles are immediately placed on stop-rent status.
* Monitor vehicle preparation, washing, refuelling, tyre condition, fluid levels, and general roadworthiness.
* Conduct random inspections to verify the condition of vehicles and the accuracy of system records.
* Ensure check-ups are completed within the required time and according to company procedures.
* Train team members on vehicle inspection standards, damage identification, photography, and system usage.
* Report repeated issues, employee mistakes, unrecorded damages, and fleet condition concerns to management.
* Ensure compliance with UAE traffic laws, safety requirements, and company policies.
## Requirements
* Valid UAE driving licence.
* Good knowledge of Dubai and UAE roads.
* Previous experience in vehicle inspection, fleet operations, automotive services, car rental, workshop operations, or a related field.
* Strong technical knowledge of vehicles, including basic mechanical and electrical systems.
* Ability to identify body damage, paint damage, tyre issues, mechanical faults, warning lights, and interior damage.
* Fluency in English and Arabic.
* Experience supervising a technical or operational team.
* Ability to use computers, smartphones, inspection applications, and fleet management systems.
* Strong attention to detail and accurate reporting skills.
* Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple vehicles and tasks.
* Responsible, organised, honest, and punctual.
* Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
## Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience in a car rental company.
* Experience handling luxury, sports, and high-value vehicles.
* Basic workshop or automotive diagnostic experience.
* Knowledge of insurance claims and accident damage assessment.
* Additional languages are an advantage.
