Finance Manager – Job Description
Location: Dubai, UAE

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the company's finance function and act as a trusted business partner to the company management.
This role goes beyond traditional accounting and financial reporting. We are looking for a commercially driven finance professional who combines strong technical finance expertise with business acumen, strategic thinking, financial modelling, technology, and leadership to support decision-making across a diversified portfolio of businesses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, business analysis, treasury, taxation, audit, compliance, financial governance, and digital finance initiatives while ensuring the efficient day-to-day management of the finance function. The role will also lead and mentor one Junior Accountant and play a key role in strengthening financial performance across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Finance & Business Partnering
• Partner with the company directors to provide financial insights that support strategic and operational decision making.
• Develop financial strategies that improve profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term business growth.
• Evaluate new business opportunities through financial modelling, feasibility studies, investment appraisals, CAPEX/OPEX analysis, payback calculations, IRR analysis, and profitability assessments.
• Support business expansion initiatives through commercial and financial analysis.
• Present meaningful financial insights, business risks, opportunities, and recommendations to senior management.

Financial Planning & Commercial Analysis
• Lead the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
• Prepare advanced financial models, including three-statement models, cash flow projections, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
• Develop monthly management reports, KPI dashboards, profitability reports, and business performance reviews.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and recommend corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation without compromising operational performance.
• Analyse profitability across business units, retail operations, and new business ventures.

Accounting, Financial Control & Governance
• Lead the complete finance and accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, fixed assets, inventory accounting, payroll accounting, and month-end/year-end closing.
• Prepare and review Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, Cash Flow Statement, and other management reports.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal financial controls, accounting policies, and finance procedures.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and UAE statutory requirements.
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of the Junior Accountant while maintaining high standards of accuracy and accountability.

Treasury & Working Capital Management
• Manage working capital and cash flow planning.
• Prepare short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts.
• Maintain strong banking relationships and oversee banking operations.
• Review supplier payments, customer collections, fund transfers, and cash management activities.
• Ensure effective liquidity management across the business.

Retail Finance Operations
• Oversee daily retail finance operations, including sales accounting, DSR verification, store reconciliations, cash deposits, credit card settlements, refunds, and petty cash.
• Monitor inventory accounting and support stock verification activities.
• Ensure effective financial controls across retail operations.

Tax, Audit & Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Review VAT returns and support Corporate Tax filings.
• Lead annual financial audits, turnover audits, and internal reviews.
• Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure timely submission of all statutory reports and finance documentation.

Digital Finance, AI & Business Intelligence
• Drive digital transformation initiatives within the finance function.
• Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar platforms to improve financial reporting, forecasting, reconciliations, and business analysis.
• Develop dashboards and real-time management reporting using Advanced Excel, Power BI, and other Business Intelligence tools.
• Lead finance operations through Microsoft Dynamics ERP (Finance Module).
• Oversee payroll coordination through Bayzat.
• Continuously identify opportunities to automate finance processes and improve operational efficiency through technology.

• Build strong working relationships with business leaders, suppliers, banking partners, auditors, landlords, franchise partners, and other external stakeholders.
• Communicate complex financial information clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Prepare executive-level reports, board presentations, and financial summaries.
• Foster a collaborative, commercially focused finance culture that supports business growth.
• Lead cross-functional finance initiatives and drive continuous process improvements.

Requirements:
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
• ACCA, CPA, CMA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification will be an advantage.

Experience
• Minimum 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a Finance Manager or equivalent finance leadership role.
• Proven experience supporting senior management with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, business analysis, and strategic decision-making.
• Experience in retail, franchise, multi-brand, holding company, or diversified business environments will be highly preferred.
• Strong exposure to both corporate finance and hands-on accounting.
• Experience working across multiple business entities or business ventures will be an advantage.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial models, Power Query, Pivot Tables, dashboards, and advanced analytical functions.
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, business analysis, and variance analysis capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP (Finance Module).
• Experience with Bayzat Payroll System will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.
