The Junior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for both the Cargo Clearing & Freight Forwarding business and the General Trading business. The role includes recording financial transactions, preparing invoices, monitoring receivables and payables, reconciling accounts, assisting in financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting
Record daily accounting transactions accurately in the accounting system.
Prepare journal entries and adjusting entries.
Reconcile bank accounts, cash accounts, and ledger balances.
Record local and international purchases.
Match supplier invoices with purchase orders and goods received.
Record sales invoices and inventory movements.
Perform daily bank reconciliations.
Record bank charges, transfers, and other banking transactions.
Accounts Receivable
Prepare customer invoices for:
Customs Clearance Services
Monitor customer payments and outstanding balances.
Follow up with customers regarding overdue accounts.
Prepare customer statements of account.
Record customer receipts and allocate payments correctly.
Accounts Payable
Process supplier invoices accurately.
Prepare payment vouchers.
Schedule supplier payments according to approved payment terms.
Reconcile supplier statements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Fresher or 1 year of accounting experience in the UAE.
English and Arab speaking is a must.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
