Junior Accountant
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to support the finance and accounting team with day-to-day accounting activities. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, assisting with reconciliations, and supporting monthly and annual financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Record and maintain daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
Perform bank and account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documents.
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management reports.
Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up when required.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
Support the preparation of VAT-related records and documentation.
Ensure accounting transactions comply with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
Coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, and customers regarding financial matters.
Assist senior accountants and the finance manager with ad-hoc accounting tasks.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
0–2 years of relevant accounting experience; fresh graduates may also be considered.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
Good knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of VAT and basic tax compliance requirements.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation.
Knowledge of UAE accounting practices is an advantage.
