Elastomeric Foam (Rubber Insulation): Flexible, closed-cell structure that prevents condensation, widely used for air-conditioning pipes. Polyurethane / Polyisocyanurate (PU/PIR): High thermal efficiency, used in refrigeration and cryogenic piping. Functions of Pipe Insulation Reduces energy loss and improves efficiency. Insulation Canvas (Canvas Jacketing) Canvas in pipe insulation refers to a protective outer covering applied over the insulation material. It is usually made from treated cotton or synthetic fabric and coated with protective paint or mastic. Purpose of Canvas Covering Protects insulation from mechanical damage. Provides a smooth, clean finish for indoor piping. Holds insulation material firmly in place. Offers minor resistance to dust, moisture, and abrasion. Improves the appearance of insulated piping. Application Method Insulation is installed around the pipe. Canvas cloth is wrapped around the insulation. It is secured with adhesive, staples, or bands.
