A large British heritage style leather steamer trunk, inspired by late 19th to early 20th century English travel luggage and traditional campaign trunks. Its broad, low profile form is wrapped in rich cognac chestnut brown leather with a distressed, time worn patina, complemented by riveted borders, stitched detailing, reinforced leather corners, side carrying handles, and dark antiqued metal hardware.
The flat hinged lid features a striking hand painted British royal inspired heraldic crest, depicting a crowned shield flanked by a lion and unicorn with garter style detailing and motto inspired scrollwork. Rendered in muted red, gold, bluish green, and cream tones, the faded artwork enhances its aged character, while a lock plate marked “Bond St. London” reinforces its traditional English, gentleman’s club aesthetic.
The spacious khaki toned interior is divided into two storage compartments with gas assisted hydraulic lid supports. Versatile in function, it can serve as a coffee table, cocktail table, blanket chest, storage trunk, foot of bed chest, or statement display piece. Its distinctive character complements British Colonial, traditional English, equestrian, vintage, eclectic, industrial, and transitional interiors.
