Dual-Sensor Detection: Uses a "Split-Spectrum Sensor" that detects both fast-flaming and slow-smoldering fires, as well as a 10-year electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor

App Alerts & Silence: Sends alerts to your phone if the alarm goes off or if the batteries are low. You can "hush" false alarms (like burnt toast) directly from the Nest app

Voice Alerts: Instead of just a loud siren, it speaks with a human voice to tell you exactly what the danger is and where (e.g.,Emergency, there's smoke in the hallway)

The ring glows white to light your way when you walk under it in the dark

When you turn off the lights, it gives a quick green glow to let you know the sensors and batteries have been self-tested and are working

If you have multiple units, they talk to each other. If the alarm goes off in the kitchen, the bedroom unit will also alert you
