Handmade papier-mâché wall sculpture

Black Terrain is a one-of-one sculptural piece made entirely from recycled materials — old cardboard boxes and egg carton papier-mâché, all processed and shaped by hand.
The work grew out of an interest in giving discarded materials a second life. What was once temporary becomes solid, textured, and lasting. The surface has an almost stone-like quality, with deep folds and shadows that change depending on the light.
The piece was created through a slow manual process in Dubai, from making the papier-mâché pulp to building and finishing the final form. No molds or machine production were used.
Designed to be displayed either vertically or horizontally, Black Terrain fits naturally into minimalist, contemporary, and wabi-sabi interiors — especially spaces that value texture, materiality, and thoughtful design.
A quiet piece about transformation, time, and the hidden potential of familiar materials.
