Most people know Chi really well but I was out with some friends this weekend who hadn't ever been to Chi after years of being in Dubai....so I took it upon myself to take them out there.
We gathered a pretty large group of people up and decided to get a VIP ta ble split between us. Now the cover on Friday had already been 150 so it wasn't much more to get a VIP table with booze included (big bottles) for 300 per person...made total sense...
Chis is older and slightly dilapidated but it is massive and well set up. It is Dubai's only "super" club with five massive rooms, bumping tunes and tons of sweaty people showing off their stuff and moves. The bouncers aren't too bad as most big clubs' bouncers are and the drink wait is never too bad either, although the prices could be better....where couldn't they in Dubai?
All in all it's the first place you should take friends who are visiting Dubai and interested in the club scene...it's always bumping.

Great little asian joint with a few different branches across Dubai - menu covers roast duck (which is not common in Dubs), dim sum, wok dishes, noodles and soup noodles and other Chinesey mains. The Laksa soup is a winner - up there with the chicken kare lomen in wagas (I think wagamama just about beats them as their noodles are better), and dim sum are also good. I was not so keen on their spring rolls as the filling was a bit mushy and all squelched out boiling hot when you bit into them. Service was prompt and efficient and they also serve proper drinks which is great if you fancy a glass of vino with your dinner. Good on price too - I would go back.
A decent mall version of Lime tree. Supposedly organic, "local", healthy foods that are pretty tasty. Insanely expensive juices that are pretty much the same price as alcoholic drinks and smaller. I have eaten here several times because its the best view of the fountain in Dubai and quite romantic and always has a table open.
My favorite thing I have eaten at BS was the grilled kingfish in olive pate...wow...really nice.
Overall pretty average but worth visiting at least once for the view and the breeze.

I tried out this place with my family and it is very much directed at families with kids staying in the hotel. I did not really like the way it was laid out - like a corridor down the hotel with shops in between which broke up the space. We had to walk quite far from our table to the buffet area. However, when we got there it was great - good sushi station, oriental dishes, dim sum, curries, salads, seafood, pasta, fish etc. It's a bit overwhelming as there is so much choice and because a lot of it is sitting on hot plates, some of the dishes were somewhat lukewarm, but generally the standard is high and caters to everyone (probs why it's good for kids as they will be happy with something there). The desserts were particularly good and the staff were great, even when my 2 year old brother was running amok up and down the restaurant and drew dark green crayon scribbles all over their nice cream banquettes! I would probably go back.
I dined at this Arabic restaurant in the Mina Salaam with my family who were staying in the JBH and therefore part of their half board scheme. It's Arabic themed but international cuisine and beautifully laid out next to the canal. There is a big buffet selection with some interesting and unusual options, such as Moroccan and a cheese section, in addition to the usual sushi, Arabic, pasta station etc. There was also a good lamb roast and other hot dishes, as well as a nice dessert selection. The only drawback was NO drinks were included (not even soft drinks) and with some of the staff there was a pretty poor language barrier - both our waitor and the guy at the pasta station were unable to communicate properly which caused problems with trying to sort out half board vouchers, and the pasta guy couldn't explain what was available. Food was good tho, altho I think it is overpriced at 190AED per head paying full price.
We've been twice to mOre Cafe in Festival City and it is lovely. We have two very young children, and my son has had the kids burger twice. I am thinking that I will be ordering one for myself next time. You can tell right away that the ingredients are fresh, and everything is prepared when ordered, not waiting to be reheated.
My wife has had lovely food, though I can not recall what she had : ( I had the boerwoer on my last visit and it is soooo tasty. I can't wait to go back and have time for desert. And when you leave they give you a small sampler of cookies, cooked on site. Gorgeous! My wife bought 3 packs!
The view is great, and a nice calm atmosphere.
My only issues - the space on the balcony is a litte small for a pram, and the service sometimes takes a bit to get anyone's attention. Saying that, at other times we had 2 or 3 people come over to help just by us glancing up.
Overall - a really nice place, too bad it is out of the way...well, not for us I guess.

Definitely a great Pizza but not for delivery at home, that’s my opinion. I have tried it this weekend with the family and although I like it very much, I believe the Pizza will be even better when it comes to you fresh from the oven. My children didn’t like it as they were expecting a thicker dough and didn’t like the crispy experience. At the end the children were still hungry despite we choose for two classic pizza’s, comparable to a medium Pizza Hut version. For a delivery or take away their prizes are a bit high however the quality is good and the pizza is tasty.
My conclusion: Probable the better pizza and YES getting close to the real traditional Italian pizza but you have to eat at the spot. Delivery or take away might disappoint you.

Went to this new cyprus/greek restaurant Yia Yia in Dubai Marine Beach Resort last week and was very disappointed in the service and food.
The interior itself was nice, however, the staff were extremely slow, did not understand English properly, and kep making mistakes. And it wasnt even that busy!!
The food was mediocre and best and was pretty expensive, expected a lot more when paying this much.
The dinner continued with them messing up the order, trying to bill us for things we did not order, and the final straw came when we were waiting for ever for them to get change, it was as if they expected a 250 dhs tip!!!
Never again, waste of time and money, much better options out there.

I absolutly love there new bun kabab! Very tasty, the chutney blends perfectly well with the kabab. And only 10dhms! I've been having the same thing for almost a week now, I can't get enough of it! A must-try, really.
I've happily eaten at pizza express a gazillion times both in the UK and here - it's pretty good standard pizza and they do nice pastas and salads too. I must say however, that today's experience was incredibly disappointing. My first impressions upon stepping inside the Safa Park branch were 1) full of screaming kids and 2) Roasting hot - what was going on with the a/c? OK so the kids were not their fault, but it went downhill from there.
My friend and I sat down and ordered drinks which took a good 15 minutes to arrive. We ordererd our food which to be fair arrived quickly, but the waitress was shocking. She ran off before we could ask for cheese / ground pepper and when we got her attention to come back, she again walked off before we could finish asking her for stuff. She looked moody the entire time and I know they were busy but still, it was terrible service! We both had the gnocchi - my friend with bolognese sauce, me with gorgonzola, and mine came absolutely swimming in the sauce. The gnocchis were undercooked and hard and our side salad came absolutely drenched in dressing, to the point of being inedible. The food was stodgy and I swear I am sitting here now with a gurgly tummy feeling not so great as a result. With the entertainer vouchers it was 85AED but I don't think I would even return on a BOGOF deal. Bleurgh!
